On Wednesday 10 July 120 young and eager rugby players made their way to WP Rugby’s state of the art High Performance Centre to participate in DHL Club Newlands’ annual Coaching Clinic.
The three day program gave kids the opportunity to be coached by the talented coaches of the Western Province Rugby Coaching Education Department to learn some of the most important rugby skills.

One of the peaks of the event was when the kids got the chance to meet the forwards of DHL Stormers team who included Deon Fourie, Nizaam Carr as well as Scarra Ntubeni.

To ensure the kids were always at their peak energy; Spur and Powerade were on hand to provide everyone with food and drink.

With all the talent shown here throughout the three days, there is a huge possibility that one day these kids could be back at the High Performance Centre training with the senior DHL Western Province and DHL Stormers side.
It was an honour for the staff at DHL Club Newlands to help make this event a success and ensure that all the kids were having a great time whilst learning the essential technical and safety skills of rugby.
DHL Club Newlands would therefore like to thank all the kids and their parents for joining us at what was a fantastic event. We hope to see you all again next year to continue your rugby development with the official supporters club of DHL Western Province and the DHL Stormers.
A big thank you goes out to DHL, Spur and Powerade and all the other sponsors involved. Another big thank you goes to Geoff Crowster from Western Province Rugby development and his coaching team for giving the kids a world class and unforgettable rugby experience throughout the three days.
