Club Newlands celebrated Heritage Day with a bang. Fans came out in their rugby gear to enjoy the DHL WP Team Braai in partnership with Freddy Hirsch. The weather threatened the event with some early rain but the Faithfull stuck to their guns and enjoyed the sunshine later the day.
BokRadio kept guests entertained while TJ’s Lekka Braai made sure the fires were lit and ready for the big braai. Sponsors, families, young and old came out to put their meat on the fire.
Castle kept the thirst away while Oude Molen made things interesting with a tasting competition and gave one lucky fan, Steven Martin, three bottles of their beloved brandy.
Spur made sure the kiddies have smiles on their faces with two jumping castles and a playstation area and Builders Express had a stall to showcase the latest braai equipment.
After the game, the DHL WP Rugby team arrived at the Castle Lawns to put their braai skills to the test with Masterchef Guru, Pete Goffe-Wood, to judge their efforts.
DHL WP captain, Deon Fourie, and his team took gold as two judges from the crowd helped Pete with his difficult decision.
A thank you to all our sponsors and our Faithful members for making this day such a great success and memorable event. It was just the ingredients needed for a fantastic day.
“The day was enjoyed by all and could not have been possible without the support from our sponsors.”– Brad Habana
